Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has appointed Prof. Augustine Nweze as the new Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology.
The governor also inaugurated the reconstituted Governing Council of the polytechnic.
Members of the new council are the Chairman, Dr. Festus Uzor; Dr. Emmanuel Igiligi, Mr. Cyril Aniwike, Mr. David Onwuegbu and Prof. Gabriel Agbo.
Statutory members of the council are the Rector, two nominees of the Academic Board of the institution, Dr. Ogoo Okanya and Dr. Innocent Eze, as well as the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education.
The governor explained that the reconstitution of the council was in line with section 5 (1) of the IMT Law, Cap 97, Revised Laws of Enugu State of Nigeria, 2004.
Ugwuanyi also said his administration would endeavour to upgrade the school to a degree awarding institution.
