Final year student of Auchi Polytechnic drown to death

Death they say have no pitty, respect and fear no one as it once again showed its ugly face on 7th of July 2016 to take a away a final year student of Auchi Polytechnic.

The victim Okunlola Halimat Yetude, was said to be on her way to a  wedding  through a  river in Ivhianake-Ekperi Village,  Etsako Central, Edo state when the canoe capsized and she was believed to have drown.

However, other four occupants of the boat survived the accident, as the actual cause of the accident could not be confirmed at the time of this report.

Until her death, she was the Class representative of the department of Business Administration ND Final, A one one time member of Auchi Polytes Crib and a Member Rotary Club Of Nigeria, Auchi Polytechnic.

She has been buried according to Islamic rites.

Breaking News!!! Auchi polytechnic management release second semester academic calendar

The long awaited academic calendar for regular students in Auchi  Polytechnic has been released today, as students  are expected to resume 26th of this month.

It will recalled that the resumption date was postpone due to the violence protest earlier this month.

Breaking News: Auchi Polytechnic Resumption Date Announced

The management of Auchi Polytechnic heard a meeting today  and concluded that morning (regular ) students should resume in 2 weeks time dated 26 June.

However, no conclusions was reached concerning SPAT (part time studies) as they wait for the investigative panel to submit their report by next week to determine the extent of the damage cause by the riot on 2nd June 2016 before a date for resumption will be fixed for them.

Temple Run In Auchi As Lectures And Staffs Flee For Safety

It was like Temple Run in Auchi Yesterday as Staff of the school Thursday deserted their offices and ran for safety, following a rumour scare of another attack on the institution.

The workers fled from their offices following rumour of a possibly attack on the institution.

Pupils of Auchi polytechnic staff school were not left out as parents rushed to pick their children from the school, which is located within the campus.

However, security operatives were on ground to forestall any further attack, as security were beefed up at every point in the school to maintain law and order.

The Acting Rector of the polytechnic, Jafaru Buraimoh confirmed the incident at a news conference, allayed fears of a second attack on the institution.

Buraimoh dismissed the possibility of such an attack, assuring member of staff of their safety at work.

He said that adequate security arrangement have been put in place to forestall any attack in the institution.

“The speculation of an impending attack on the institution is unfolded.
“The management is on top of the situation to ensure safety of staffs.

“The polytechnic staff primary school and secondary school remain in session, and parents are advise to disregard any information to the contrary as adequate security have been put in place for them,” he said.

AUCHI POLYTECHNIC REMAIN CLOSED AS PANEL GETS 14 DAYS TO SUBMIT REPORT

Few days after the protest in Auchi Polytechnic that led to the destruction of properties running into millions of naira, the school has set up an eight man panel to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the fracas that engulfed the school.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the school, Mustapha Oshiobugie said the panel has two weeks to submit its report adding that the school remained closed for both part time and full time students of the school.

The rector however said that the polytechnic remained closed indefinately as investigation is still ongoing to unravel the circumstances that led to the destruction of the institutions properties.
