Rivers University student among suspects paraded by police for kidnapping, robbery


A student of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology is among other forty-one suspects paraded by the state Police Command.

The paraded suspects include alleged perpetrators of heinous crimes in different parts of the state, including kidnapper, armed robbers, car theft, cultism among others.
Some of those paraded confessed to committing the crime.

One of the suspects told DAILY POST that, “I was arrested when I went to deliver the ransom we collected from one customer. I went to give the ransom to the boys that did the job when police came. The person we kidnapped is our tenant.

My brother’s tenant. One lady and one Igbo man. We took them to Abia state. But when I went to give them the ransom, they gave me five thousand naira before police now came to arrest us.”

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni who addressed the media on behalf of the Commissioner of Police said the Police had continued to make gains against criminals in the state.

DSP Omoni said the Command carried out successful operations in Ahaoda-West, Ahaoda-East, Emohua, Degema, Asari-Toru, Gokana, Eleme and other flash points in the state.
